ELECTRIC TOOTHBRUSHES
- Oral-B Pro 1000 Electric Toothbrush: This is an entry-level electric toothbrush if some of the other options are too pricey. I like that it has a sensor to let you know if you’re brushing too hard, as well as a timer that goes off every 30 seconds so you know when to move to a different section of your mouth.
- Burst Sonic Toothbrush: This is my personal favorite – it is the most gentle electric toothbrush I’ve used (and I’ve tried them all!). The bristle are very delicate and soft, which is essential. I still get a great clean every time I use this brush.
- Phillips Sonicare DiamondClean Smart 9700 Electric Toothbrush: This is certainly one of the more pricey options, but it has tons of great features like sensors that tell you if you’re using too much pressure, as well as the ability to sync your toothbrush up to your phone to see where you need to pay more attention to cleaning.
- Phillips Sonicare ProtectiveClean 4100: This is a less expensive option from Phillips, with some of the features of the DiamondClean, like the two minute timer. It’s also very quiet.
- Quip Electric Toothbrush: The Quip service is a good option for people who don’t want to have to remember to purchase new brush heads, since you’ll get new ones in the mail every few months.
- Bruush Electric Toothbrush: This is another compact option that is great for travel. It has a USB power charger and adaptor, so it’s easy to take with you wherever you go. Bruush also has an optional subscription plan, so you can get automatic brush heads sent to you directly.
- Brightline Sonic Rechargeable Toothbrush: This is a great budget-friendly option at $40 that comes with five cleaning modes that you can choose from when you brush, ranging from cleaning to get rid of stains, to a sensitivity mode, which is gentler on the gum line.
- Oral-B Kids Electric Toothbrush: I love this option for kids, because getting kids to brush their teeth can sometimes be a struggle! It comes in a few character options, like Frozen and Moana, which can help motivate. On the cleaning side, it comes with gentle brush heads, and has a magic timer app to help kids brush for the recommended time.
- Fairywill Electric Toothbrush P11: The Fairywill is a good travel option; it is USB compatible, and compact for travel. It also has a timer that pauses every 30 seconds to signal to move to a different part of your mouth, and also comes with different color brush heads so it can be used interchangeably between more than one person.
- Pro-sys VarioSonic Electric Toothbrush: If plaque buildup is a common issue, this toothbrush is the right choice for you. It was designed with removing plaque as a main goal, and has five levels of cleaning power to get the job done.
AT HOME WHITENING
Some of my favorite at-home teeth whitening kits:
- Opalescence Go Professional Whitening System, 10% Hydrogen Peroxide: This is a system that is really easy to use and comes in a variety of hydrogen peroxide strengths to suit needs. 10% hydrogen peroxide is perfect for at-home use; it’s strong enough to be effective, but not too strong that it will make teeth sensitive or cause harm when used as instructed. This kit has a teeth whitening gel that uses hydrogen peroxide for whitening and potassium nitrate and fluoride to reduce sensitivity and help strengthen teeth. You wear the trays for 15-30 minutes daily for about 5-7 days to see results.
- Spotlight Conscious Oral Care Kit: Spotlight is a clean, sustainable brand, which I love. The whitening kit comes with a whitening toothpaste, dental floss for whitening teeth, a whitening pen and whitening strips. It really gives you every option for whitening your teeth at home, or on the go. The whitening pen actively whitens teeth through the use of Hydrogen Carbonate Calcium, an active ingredient that removes stations and the floss has hydrogen peroxide in it so you can whiten in between teeth as well for a more even appearance.
